- OneDrive placeholder files are gone for good. I just want the selective sync option like I had in Windows 7. Some people got really attached to the placeholders, but I hated them. They really messed up backup software, such as CrashPlan. Besides, I have an entire folder in OneDrive called "Archive." It's an archive; I don't want that folder ever touching my desktop PC. That folder needs to stay in the cloud and never be touched unless disaster strikes.
- The Start Menu is back.
- Cortana: Not sure I will use this a lot, but I want to try it out.
- Edge: Hopefully, this will be a really great browser.
- Command Line Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V (Even though I should be using PowerShell instead of the command line.)
- Because I can. I am a tech enthusiast and I feel pretty confident that it will work out ok. Besides, I have really good backups and my desktop is not critical to my work flow so even if it takes me a week to get back up and running it is not big deal.
Come think out loud with me. My thoughts on technology, religion, politics and whatever else I'm thinking about.
And if you have a 1 TB of data on onedrive and only 250 GB drive on your laptop? OneDrive thus becomes useless.
