Religion
I follow the religion of Christianity, which is quite a broad term. If you’re looking to narrow it down a bit, I would say I’m an evangelical Christian.
Here’s the big picture in four points.
Creation: God created the whole world, declared it to be good and created humans in his image.
Fall: Mankind fell from relationship with God. Sin entered God’s perfect world and has been messing it up ever since. Humans are sinful, both because of their sin nature and because they commit acts of sin.
Redemption: Jesus Christ came to earth and died in the place of human sinners so that we could be restored to our relationship with God. Jesus Christ was and is fully God and fully man, and God raised him from the dead, as the defeat of sin and death.
Restoration: Jesus Christ will return to earth to finish his redemption once and for all. Sin, Satan, and sinners will be judged. A new heaven and new earth will come about that will restore things to the perfect created order that God intended.
This blog post is an overview of what I believe, but if you would like more specifics on Christianity, you can see my church’s doctrinal statement.
